Have you ever heard of Vanessa Hudgens? Vanessa Hudgens has brownish black hair. She loves to sing and act. You could find her on the Disney Channel’s “Suite Life of Zac and Cody” show. She made a song called “Come Back to me”.
Vanessa was born in Salina, California on December 14, 1988. Her height is 5”2. People call her Nessa,V,Van, Baby V, and Vanny. Vanessa Hudgens is 19 years old, turning 20 in December. Vanessa is Chinese, Filipino, and Spanish from her mom’s side. Form her dad’s side she is Irish and American Indian. Vanessa Hudgens has a sister named Stella Hudgens, who is an actress. Her dad’s name is Greg Hudgens and her mom’s name is Gina Guango.
Vanessa Hudgens made lots of movies like High School Musical 1 and High School Musical 2 that is coming out in the summer of 2007. She was in the movie Thunder Bird and Thirteen. She came out with an album named High School Musical and another one called V. Some of her songs are “Say OK”,”Dance with me”, “Promise” and a whole bunch more. There were some rumors about Vanessa Hudgens having a crush on Zac Efron from the movie, “High School Musical”. For awhile they’re calling her Zanessa. Zac Efron also performed in the show “Suite Life of Zac and Cody”.
I hope you learned a little something about Vanessa Hudgens. I asked some people about their opinion on Vanessa Hudgens. Alexis from 620 said that Vanessa Hudgens is kind of a good singer but not as good as Beyonce. Michelle, my cousin, thinks that Vanessa is a good singer and actress. 50 Cent in Staten Island

50 Cent is one of the biggest celebrities that has ever come to Staten Island. On September 14th, 2007, 50 Cent visited Staten Island for his five-borough tour. Over 200 people went to the concert at “Club Illusions” in Great Kills. Some fans that weren’t able to get tickets stood outside waiting for the arrival of “50” to try and catch a glimpse of him. They held posters of 50 Cent’s new record, “Curtis” on it. 50 Cent played new and old songs that night. He played new tracks like “AYO Technology,” and “I Get Money.” During his performance, he threw out fake $50 bills with his face on it to the crowd. He also brought out his “G-Unit” members Lloyd Banks, Tony Yayo, and his personal DJ. After the show, fans were reported in the Staten Island Advance saying, “No, I’m not kidding. He was right here, at Illusions, tattoos over his whole body and everything.”

Singer Kat Deluna was at the Staten Island Mall on September 15, 2007. Kat performed at the center of the mall at the Fashion Jam. Other people performed also but Kat had the most fame and was truly the star of the show. Kat sang her big hit “Whine Up” and a song called “animal.” Kat sang and danced. Everybody was cheering her on. After the song “Whine Up,” she said, “I have officially taught Staten Island how to do the Whine Up!” The line to get her autograph was very long. My sister, Angela Lo, said, “The concert was cool but she performed late and everyone had to wait!” Angela, who is a big fan of Kat’s, did tell me though that the concert was worth the wait!

Joe Torre, Turns Down Yankees Offer

Owner of the New York Yankees, George Steinbrenner, told The Record of Hackensack, NJ, on October 6th that he didn’t thing he’d bring back the manager, Joe Torre, if the Yankees failed to advance to the American League Championship Series. The Cleveland Indians then eliminated New York in four games, sending New York to its third straight first-round exit. The Yankees offered Joe a one year contract with a base salary of $5 million and Joe decided to turn it down.Torre has led the Yankees to the playoffs in all 12 of his seasons and helped the team win the World Series in four of his first five years, but the Yankees haven’t won the World Series since 2000 and haven’t won the AL pennant since 2003. Since Joe Torre is not returning, bench coach and Yankees legend Don Mattingly is the leading contender to take over as the Yankees manager. Yankees broadcaster Joe Girardi, the NL Manager of the Year with the Florida Marlins in 2006, is another possibility. I think that Joe Torre should’ve accepted the offer and continued as manager for the New York Yankees next season. Joe Torre has done an excellent job with the Yankees over the past 12 years. I think that Joe Torre would’ve leaded the Yankees to the American League Championships and the World Series next season if he continued managing the New York Yankees.

Extreme Makeover Home Edition: September 11

On a recent night, I saw “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition,” and boy, was it good. It was a tribute to 9/11 and the crew remodeled a soldier’s home. This soldier saved two police officers in 9/11. The police officers were stuck in the rubble. One was stuck in it for 19 hours, one for 22 hours; It was tragic. Extreme Makeover (in case you don’t watch it) remodels people’s homes and changes their lives. But not just any people, they help people in need. Well, this soldier’s life was risked plenty of times. Hence when they were making a very heavy wooden flag for the dining room, one of the workers was working on the edge of the flag, and needed to take off the safety guard to the machinery. What he didn’t realize was his hand was in the way of the machine. His hand was seriously injured and his palm was scarred. He had to go to the emergency room, and he needed to go into surgery.Two hours later, he was allowed visits and the host of the show, Ty Pennington, came. When he was walking into the room, he stated, “This has never happened on Extreme Makeover Home Edition.” He gave the worker a laptop computer to see the family experience their new house.They finished the home in time for Christmas. Cool huh? An early Christmas present. The worker saw them in their new house, thanks to the computer, and they loved it. This really was an experience that I will never forget. The worker also stated that the flag was “all that stood for 9/11 and all the people that survived and the unlucky ones.”

Astroland's Park Gone Forever?

The place where most people have gone to since they were a child is closing down. Coney Island is getting a makeover. They are replacing the old rides with new ones. Astroland Park is closing down. Thor Equities bought the land and is deciding to put a multi-million dollar amusement park in Astroland’s place. A lot of people love going there and it’s fit for everyone’s budget. It’s like a part of us and it would be so hard to get rid of it. Protesters are getting their wish that they won’t replace it until the end of 2008. The summer of 2008 would be the last summer for Astroland. We have one more chance to say goodbye to Astroland!!!!!

Twilight: Is This The New "Harry Potter"?

People are going crazy over a new book. It’s even beating some of Harry Potter’s records in it first week only! It’s Twilight, the new book that teens everywhere are going crazy over. Twilight is a love story between a vampire and a human. The book has taken the nation by storm. Everywhere you go there are Twilight blogs, forums, and websites popping up from admiring and addicted fans.
The book is about a girl named Isabella “Bella” Swan. She’s starting high school in a new state where she lives with her dad, the local sheriff. In school all the boys pay attention to her although she doesn’t notice. She’s become preoccupied with the notorious Edward Cullen, the hottest guy in school who just happens to have a thing for her too. Things start to heat up when Bella finds out Edward’s terrible secret. Trouble ensues when a group of nomadic vampires stop by for a visit and the leader has set his sights on Bella. For dinner! I’m not going to tell you the rest though — you’ll just have to read and find out!
Stephenie Meyer, the illustrious author of Twilight, says the idea for the book came to her in a dream. She’s already written two other books in the series and plans to write a fourth book are in the works.
