A Big Book Hits the Big Screen

By Stephanie Chin

It’s been on the New York Times Bestseller List three times in a row. It topped Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows on its first day, and in about two years, it will hit the big screen! Twilight, published in 2005, is a sensational book by around thirty author Stephenie Meyer and millions of teens around the world have read it.

We know that most movies, such as “Eragon” and “Lord of the Rings” originally came from popular books but now it’s Twilight’s turn. The best-seller horror romance has been signed by Summit, an independent movie company, and they plan to work on it as soon as they can.

Stephenie seems to trust director Catherine Hardwicke and writer Melissa Rosenberg and readers, like me, expect a lot from them.

The main and most important thing about the movie that I think the readers care about, however, has to be the cast!

That is yet to be decided! Stephenie says she would like to see her main characters played by Emily Browning and Henry Cavill.

Personally, I would like to see Emily Browning star in the movie also, but with Gaspard Ulliel.
