Is Myspace, the popular website, safe? What do you think? People say that it’s perfectly safe and some say that it is not safe at all. Myspace can be safe if used with caution.
If you don’t have a picture of yourself online, then it might be pretty safe. If you just have an icon, then it’s safe too. You should go onto Myspace for good reasons, such as to talk to your friends. For example, if you forgot your homework you can ask your friend for it. There are reasons why Myspace is unsafe too. Some people out there go on Myspace with bad intentions. Often teenagers and even adults are too trusting to people they do not know and this leads to the problems that Myspace creates.
What can we do to protect ourselves if we do use Myspace? Here are some suggestions:
1) Use an icon instead of a picture
2) Do not write out your address or phone number
3) Don’t add people you do not know to your list
Hopefully all students will take the privilege of internet use to heart and learn to protect themselves.
