Next Top Model

Do you want to be top? “America’s Next Top Model” (cycle 8) recently started again on the CW 11. There’s new people, new drama, new gossip, and more competition. In the first episode, the introduction had a boot camp theme. A new episode of ANTM (America’s Next Top Model) comes out on every Wednesday. Tyra Banks is the show’s host and creator. Tyra’s best friend is Kimora Lee Simmons (Russell Simmon’s ex-wife and the creator of Baby Phat). Tyra got her first big acting break on the show “Fresh Prince of Bel Air” starring Will Smith. Tyra was the first African-American supermodel to be on the cover of Sports Illustrated. Tyra says her modeling career was difficult because of a rivalry with Naomi Campbell.


Like Tyra, the show’s contestants have to go through several tests to see if they can take the challenge of becoming a supermodel. After every test, like the weekly photo shoots, they have to go through eliminations. One of the weakest contestants ends up going home. Tyra is also one of the judges. The winner in cycle 7 was CariDee. This season, I think that the person that is going to win is Brittany. I want Jaslene to win.

The Pussycat Dolls

Another new show that you can watch on Tuesdays at 9:00 pm is “The Pussy Cat Dolls: The Search for the Next Doll.” The creator of this show is Robin Antin. The contestants on the show are girls who audition to be a member of the band, The Pussycat Dolls but they have to go through some challenges. Only one girl can be the next Pussycat Doll. The lead singer of The Pussycat Dolls is Nicole. We will have to wait and see who wins this latest reality show. I’m still not sure who I want to win because I’m still getting to know the contestants.
